EMILY HAS ALWAYS BEEN INVOLVED IN SPORTS SINCE THE AGE OF

THREE. SHE STARTED WITH GYMNASTICS AND DANCE LIKE MOST GIRLS

AND COMPETED IN BOTH BEGINNING AT THE AGE OF 7. HER PARENTS

ALSO PUT HER INTO SOCCER AND BASKETBALL WITH HER ELEMENTARY

SCHOOL TEAMS. SHE HAS ALWAYS LOVED COMPETING FROM THE

STAGE TO THE SOCCER FIELD OR RACING THE BOYS IN GYM CLASS.

EMILY PLAYED FIELD HOCKEY, LACROSSE AND RAN TRACK IN HIGH

SCHOOL TO GET THE EXPERIENCE OF TEAM SPORTS, BUT HER TRUE

FOCUS WAS DANCE. SHE WAS A COMPETITIVE DANCER FROM THE

AGE OF 7 THROUGH HER SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. SHE

CONTINUED HER DANCE EDUCATION AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY'S

TISCH SCHOOL OF THE ARTS IN COLLEGE.

EMILY FIRST BECAME INVOLVED IN CROSSFIT THANKS TO HER AUNT BRENDA.

BRENDA HAD BEEN AN AVID CROSSFITTER FOR YEARS AND GOT EMILY TO TRY A

PUNCH PASS AFTER HER OLDEST SON WAS BORN. EMILY HAD CO-OWNED A

PERSONAL TRAINING SCHOOL AT THE TIME AND IT WAS A REFRESHING CHANGE

TO BE COACHED BY SOMEONE ELSE AND TAKE CLASS WITH A GROUP OF

PEOPLE WHO CONSTANTLY PUSH THEMSELVES TO BE BETTER.

EMILY NOW COACHES TUESDAY EVENINGS AND WEDNESDAY MORNINGS.

"I TEACH CROSSFIT BECAUSE I WANT TO USE THE TOOLS AND KNOWLEDGE, I

HAVE ACCRUED OVER THE YEARS TO HELP OTHERS IN REACHING THEIR FITNESS

GOALS. NOTHING MAKES ME HAPPIER THAN SEEING OUR MEMBERS SUCCEED

AND ATTAIN PERSONAL GROWTH INSIDE THE GYM. I LOVE MOTIVATING OUR

MEMBERS TO ACHIEVE MILESTONES IN THEIR FITNESS JOURNEY THAT THEY DID

NOT THINK WAS POSSIBLE. THE MEMBERS AT EXP ARE DRIVEN AND VERY

COACHABLE AND I LOVE THAT ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY. I UNDERSTAND THE

GYM IS AN OUTLET FOR OUR MEMBERS AND MY GOAL FOR EACH OF THEM IS TO

GET THE BEST EXPERIENCE OUT OF THE TIME THEY SPEND AT THE GYM."

"EACH MEMBER HAS INDIVIDUALIZED GOALS AND BENCHMARKS THAT

THEY ARE HOPING TO REACH WHEN THEY WALK THROUGH THAT DOOR.

IT IS MY GOAL TO TEACH AND INSPIRE EACH MEMBER TO HIT THEIR

GOAL NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES. I LOVE THAT CROSSFIT IS FOR

PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVELS. ACHIEVING GOALS IN THE

GYM IS INFECTIOUS AND I TRY TO BRING THE ENERGY AND POSITIVE

COACHING FOR OUR MEMBERS TO STEP OUTSIDE OF THEIR COMFORT

ZONES TO LIFT A LITTLE MORE, HANG ON FOR A FEW MORE REPS, AND

WORK ON THEIR AREAS OF WEAKNESSES TO ADVANCE THEIR FITNESS

JOURNEY."

"MY PERSONAL FITNESS PHILOSOPHY IS YOU GET AS MUCH AS YOU

PUT IN. I THINK THIS GOES FOR EVERYTHING IN LIFE AS WELL. IF YOU

WANT TO SEE RESULTS YOU MUST BE PATIENT AND CONSISTENT FOR A

LONG PERIOD OF TIME. NOTHING HAPPENS OVERNIGHT, BUT IF YOU

PUT IN THE CONSISTENT WORK YOU WILL START TO SEE THE BENEFITS

OF ALL YOUR HARD WORK. I TRY TO TEACH MY KIDS THIS WITH SCHOOL

AND SPORTS. IF YOU WANT TO BE GOOD AT SOMETHING YOU MUST

PUT IN CONSISTENT WORK!

I WOULD PERSONALLY MEASURE SUCCESS IN CROSSFIT AS SHOWING

UP DAY TO DAY AND GIVING 100% EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO.

EACH DAY YOU SHOW UP AND WORK HARD YOU ARE GETTING BETTER

AND TO ME THAT IS SUCCESS."
